Past Sessions: Joseph

To know Joseph, is to love Joseph.  This guy!

Right about now, Joseph is all moved in down in Tuscaloosa, ready to start the next phase of his journey as a student at The University of Alabama.

Joseph discovered he loved media while in high school...and he was GREAT at this!

In his time at ECS, he could be found leading a pep rally on the mic, or serving as a sports commentator for various games on Legends Field.  He has a fun personality that seems just right for these jobs.  I have enjoyed watching him grow during his high school years.
He is a sharp young man and I know he will go far with his dreams!  He won't leave you long without a laugh, he knows how to be fun and funny.  That alone will ensure he will have a great journey.

Best wishes to you, Joseph!  I really enjoyed taking your Senior Photos.  I can't wait to see what you will do in college!

Past Sessions: Adia and Mollie

I am sitting here on a rainy afternoon, thinking back to early Fall and a few sessions with some very lovely ladies.
I love looking at these photos!

These two are naturals with the camera and the camera loves them.

Adia joined me downtown and we meandered around Crosstown Concourse.

She was just as pleasant as the day I met her back in her Elementary School days.  I remember her laughing with my daughter on a typical Field Day at Lakeland Elementary.  Adia has always sparkled.
She is all grown up now, and a rising Senior!

Mollie’s session was right up my alley, at the Barn.  She was taking time to love on her horse, Sierra and pose a bit for me.
Mollie and my daughters have been ‘barn girls’ since First Grade, I believe! I have watched this young lady grow up before my eyes.
This rising Senior knows what she wants out of life.

Both Adia and Mollie are beautiful, photogenic, and fun to have in a session!

Best wishes to you both this coming year.  Enjoy every second!

Seniors - Tiny Sessions and Not So Tiny Plans

As summer keeps moving forward, I am reminded of time and that we just can’t stop it.
There is a select group of parents out there that feel the pain of time right about now.  These are the parents that have upcoming Seniors.
I see the posts on Social Media and its as if these parental feelings caught everyone off guard.  In truth, it's really a discovery of how weird that it's really time for Senior Year.  How strange those feelings make you...feel.  How fast the last few years went by.
So here you are, the summer before Senior Year.  Keep you eyes wide open to take in all you can of these special moments.  Keep your arms open just in case you get a chance of a hug.  And when you do, breathe it all in.
That baby is growing up.  It's almost time for that baby to fly.
These are some of the Seniors and soon-to-be Seniors I captured on camera in the last year.  I love looking at the finished product for little hints of their personality.  I catch a grin, a stare, a huge smile and wonder their thoughts.

I do think these Seniors are super excited.  I believe they are filled with thoughts of plans, events and friendships.
Of course, they could be thinking about when the photo session is over.
As I look back over the photos, I can see that Seniors are ready.
Ready for that last year.
Ready to spread their wings as they prepare to fly.

Best wishes to all upcoming Seniors.  It’s a great year.  Don’t waste a minute and soak it all in.  Epic times await.

The Trip that Almost Wasn’t, Senior Spotlight - Brandon and Kuku

For my Senior Spotlight today, I'm going to throwback to some photos I took on Fall Break this past October.  The pictures were taken on a trip to the Beach down in Florida.
I was lucky enough to be around a super group of kids this past Break.  It was the trip that almost didn’t happen.  The hurricane caused so much damage on the Gulf and our family trip was cancelled.  But thanks to some persistent parents, a trip was regrouped and the fun began within about 12 hours of booking.

It was awesome for me to be able to take a few pictures of these Seniors and the rest of the crew on the trip.  There were a few moms that wanted some Senior pictures and I was excited to try some photography on the sand.  Of course it is hard to wrangle a group, but between me and another mom--we did ok!
Brandon

Brandon is a quiet soul with the most beautiful blue eyes.  He is super quiet around me, but I am not so sure this sweet guy is always quiet!

On the soccer field, Brandon’s actions speak and he moves the ball.

Kuku has a smile that shines for days.
Kuku
This handsome fella has a fun sense of humor and a big heart.  His voice is super deep and so are his plays on the soccer field.

Both Brandon and Kuku work hard at their sport and seem to really treasure their friends.  They were fun to catch on camera, along with the rest of the funky bunch at the beach.  Taking their photos is a strong special memory for me.  My oldest is celebrating, along with his friends, this passage of time.  These days are so short but packed!
One of my fave photos

All the kids on the trip!
Signing off before I get too misty.  Stay tuned for more Senior Spotlights coming soon!

Tiny Session - The Brady Family

Early in the Fall,  I had the pleasure of taking a few photos of the Brady Family.  I first met the Bradys when my son played football with their son, Preston, a few years ago.
Preston giving the Coach gratitude during his Senior Season!
Preston was always a fun, passionate player that loved the whole package of The Team and the business on the field.  It's fun to see that passion runs in the Brady Family and also reflects in all they do.

Spending time with them that afternoon was a joy.  Bennett and Emma Sanders were entertaining me as we regrouped in several spots for photos.
I can see their sweet and fun personalities and I assume it is never boring at their house.
As a photographer, I have taken several ECS football photos over the past few years.
Preston on the field
One of my most favorite still shots on the field was of Preston a few years back, his Senior Year.  I think I liked the lighting and how he paused for the next play.

I look forward to taking more of Bennett and Emma Sanders at ECS,

they are both pretty active Eagles!  AND maybe I can squeeze a few in of Preston on the Memphis Football Gridiron next year!
Bennett(#14) on the field this past season.

Emma Sanders and friends cheering for The Eagles!
Thank you to the Brady family!   #tsphotography #tinysessions
